So I mentioned last week that I’d pop in with a roundup of school ideas and here I am finally, with a ton of ideas for you. My little guy is going into grade one this year and last year leftovers were so handy for packing in his lunches. I love using a Thermos to keep food warm until lunch time so keep that in mind with the dishes that would be best served hot or warm. If I’m sending leftovers I almost always round out my sons lunch with a little bit of fruit and/or a healthy treat like you’ll find towards the end of the list. I also have some bread and crackers options further down the list as well.
So first off, some hot lunches that go great in a Thermos or that can be heated up at school if that’s an option:
And now some dishes that can be served cold(or warm if you’d prefer for some):
Greek Salad(plus a recipe in this post for spelt pita bread)
And now some Bread Options, both Sweet and Savory, Yeast or Quick Breads, all are great for packing in lunches:

Multigrain Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins(that can also be made with all whole wheat pastry flour or even all purpose flour if that’s what you use!)
