Hi! My name is Heidi. Welcome to my Food Doodles. I’m a 27 year old mom of 3 kids, 1 boy and 2 girls. My husband and I live with our kids in a small town in beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
You may have noticed I focus on healthier recipes here on Food Doodles. Whatever I’m making I try to make it the healthiest I can by adding fruits and veggies, or by reducing the butter and sugar and using whole grains. It’s my job as a mom to make sure my kids are getting the healthiest start in life, not to mention a good example of healthful eating while they’re growing up. While I don’t necessarily post “kid friendly” recipes, in our house we all eat together so almost everything you see posted our kids enjoy with us.
You may have also noticed that I occasionally post vegan, dairy free or even gluten free recipes. While we are not vegan(or even vegetarian) and don’t need to be dairy free or gluten free I quite often cook or bake this way. While I try to make everything I make healthier, it also has to taste amazing(or just as good as the unhealthy versions!) and my recipes are testing by my meat loving(most vegetable hating) husband and 3 kids, so you know the recipes I post are well tested 🙂
