Lunchbox Inspiration Week 5

by Heidi @ Food Doodles on

Monday

We’re back with another installment of Lunchbox Inspiration!  This week started with a lunchbox full of grapes, cucumbers, a hard boiled egg, a few cheese cubes and a granola bar.

Tuesday

Tuesday was a couple slices of homemade pizza leftover from the night before, a container of grapes and cucumbers and a cut up apple held together with an elastic band.

Wednesday

I didn’t realize the plastic baggies were such a bad idea for this picture, but I wanted to mention the awesome new butcher block my husband made for me!  Check it out.  I just love it so you’ll be seeing more of it in pictures soon 🙂  Anyways, in this lunch, 1 slice of leftover homemade pizza, cut up cucumbers, cut up apple, some grapes and an energy bite.  I also ended up sending a little bit of ranch dip for the cucumbers because I thought three days of cucumbers in a row might be a bit much.

Thursday

On Thursday the kids had Greek yogurt with frozen berries with a bit of granola to sprinkle on top.  Stirring frozen berries into the yogurt is the best because it keeps it cool but is mostly, if not completely thawed by the time they eat.  Plus frozen is usually cheaper than fresh too.  Bonus!  I also sent along an apple and peanut butter for dipping.  Both kids couldn’t decide what color of apple to have so I switched them up like this.  The problem with that was that the three year old wanted one of “that kind” of apple too.  Sorry kid, I’m not putting two whole apples together so you can eat three slices and be “full”.  Hehe.

Friday

On Friday my son stayed home with a cough so my daughter had this lunch, grapes, cheese cubes, cucumber slices, and some of our home grown hazelnuts and some dried cranberries with a container of fresh pineapple on the side.

Have a great week!

Lucky kids to get this for their lunches.

I think so too. I wish I packed myself a lunch like that, I usually get leftovers 🙂

I love this series! I don’t have kids and generally just pack myself leftovers or salads for lunch, but the part of me that loves small compartments and cataloging really enjoys these photos!

Thanks so much Amanda! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it. I’m a big fan of leftovers as well but I love the little compartments too, so nice and organized! 🙂
