Lunchbox Inspiration Week 7

by Heidi @ Food Doodles on October 26, 2015

Monday

This week started out with leftovers in a Thermos.ย  It was leftover homemade burrito pie which I’ll be sharing the recipe for soon.ย  So delicious, my kids love it and it packs well in a Thermos ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I also sent a fun mandarin orange(although my artistry is better later in the week!), some home dried apple slices and an Apple Pie Larabar Bite(recipe also coming soon ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

Tuesday

On Tuesday I sent hummus and a little bit of tzatziki with some cut up veggies and pita bread along with a cute kitty face mandarin orange ๐Ÿ™‚ย  On Tuesday I also decided to start taking pictures of only one lunch.ย  98% of the time my kids both have the same thing in their lunches.ย  In the event that they pack a different lunch I’ll post both pictures, but for now even though you see one lunch, I do pack two lunches, for my 8 and almost 6 year old ๐Ÿ™‚

Kitty Orange

Close up on the kitty face.ย  My kids just love it when I do this and it only takes a minuteย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Wednesday

On Wednesday I sent a little bit more hummus with cut up red pepper.ย  A container of homemade applesauce with a few more of our home grown raspberries on top, a bag of air popped popcorn with a little butter and salt and a jack-o-lantern mandarin orange ๐Ÿ™‚

Thursday

Thursday, the last day of school this week since Friday was a day off, I sent cheese cubes, a cut up apple, another Apple Pie Larabar Bite(can’t wait to share that recipe soon!), more of our home grown raspberries and a Secret Ingredient Chocolate Cupcake.ย  I also sent a small handful of hazelnuts underneath the cupcake since I wasn’t sure all this would be enough ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s all for this week, have a good one!

Heidi, thanks for all your great recipes! I love your creativity with the lunches! You manage to make them fun and wholesome at the same time. I especially love the faces on the clementines! What kind of marker do you use? Thanks! MaryEllen

Thanks MaryEllen! I used a Sharpie since the skins get peeled off, but you can buy edible markers if you want to draw on something that’s going to be eaten ๐Ÿ™‚

Your children are so fortunate to have such healthy lunches. I worked in the school for over 24 years years. Believe me it is a shame what some bring to eat. Just junk!!
