Lunchbox Inspiration Week 9

by Heidi @ Food Doodles on November 9, 2015

This post is sponsored by Natural Delights, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This week started out with some leftover homemade pizza(with lots of olives!), some cut up carrots from a local farm, and a cut up apple held together with an elastic(my favorite way to stop it from going brown!)  And of course I let them pick a candy to bring to school 🙂

Tuesday I sent just one piece of pizza along with some broccoli and carrots, some cut up apple, a few graham crackers, a smiley face orange and a couple Natural Delights almond date rolls.  I wanted to send them something sweet without sending candy any more and the date rolls were perfect.  Natural candy 🙂  They also contain so much more nutritionally than any candy can offer, they’re even a great source of fiber.  And bonus, my kids already love dates so I knew they’d be a hit 🙂

Wednesday I sent a salad with romaine lettuce, a little bit of green cabbage, red peppers and carrots along with a hard boiled egg on top.  I also sent along their choice of dressing, a homemade cinnamon cranberry granola bar(recipe coming soon!) and a banana with hearts on it.  My daughter saw her banana and grabbed the toothpick to write her name on it 🙂  Wouldn’t want anyone stealing her banana, haha.

Thursday I sent some cut up broccoli stems(if you don’t eat them you should!  So yummy, just peel and enjoy!) and the rest of the red pepper from the day before, along with some leftover roasted potatoes and a bit of ketchup.  I also sent an orange, a homemade granola bar and a couple more date rolls, this time Pecan Pumpkin Pie Spiced.  Yum!

Friday I didn’t have a whole lot left in the fridge so I sent some egg salad sandwich filling along with some crackers and carrots for dipping/scooping, along with an apple 🙂

That’s all for this week, have a great week everyone!
