Basic Butternut Squash Soup

Basic Butternut Squash SoupYou know when things start to crash and burn and you think they can’t possibly get any worse?  It’s hard to focus on anything else or to get other things that need doing done.  And then all of a sudden things turn around, everything that went wrong gets fixed, progress is made and it feels like a weight is lifted?  That is so me right now.  So many things with the blog have gone wrong this weekend, but it’s all looking up now.  I’m feeling 100% about it again and I’m so glad to have all of you still with me as I had a bit of a heart attack when I realized I could have lost a fair percentage of my dear readers, and really this place would be nothing without you Basic Butternut Squash Soup

Moving on… I’m so excited to go full steam ahead again.  I’m cooking more and more now as I’m getting closer to 5 months along.  Only just over 2 weeks till I’m half way there!  I have a few things in store for you for the next week or so mostly including winter squash but also some other things, steel cut oats and quinoa… And I’ll admit that there’s something involving pumpkin… But that’s all I’m telling for now!  Stay tuned Basic Butternut Squash Soup

Basic Butternut Squash SoupIf you’re looking for a basic recipe to get creative with, this is it.  Or if you just like your soup plain, simple and delicious, like I do, you will love this.  I served mine alongside some of this brown bread which I made exactly how she described, except I only made half and ended up baking it about 40 minutes.  It was perfect while still warm with butter melted over top and then dipped in soup, and a half loaf was just the perfect amount.

Basic Butternut Squash SoupI hope everyone has a fantastic(and safe!) evening!

I’ve yet to make a butternut squash soup. I’ve never tried that yet. Admittedly, I didn’t eat anything squash for the longest time. Now, I can hardly go a week without eating squash when they’re in season. With so many possibilities to choose from, I keep pushing the soup back. But I’m going to have to give in soon. I need this. It’s calling my name!

Glad things are working good with your blog now. I so hate it when technologie fails me. What went wrong, exactly, if you don’t mind my asking?

Oooh, yes, try it! You wont be disappointed. And on a plus side if you have a bowl or two and then don’t want anymore just stick it in the freezer because it’s just as good when it comes out of the freezer :)

Oh, I know, it can be so frustrating. I don’t mind at all, actually it’s kind of nice to be able to talk about blog stuff with someone else. It was actually mostly just my own mistakes catching up with me. I made a mistake setting up ads on my site since I switched to a new network and my site wouldn’t load for a lot of the weekend :( And then I guess I had set up my facebook page wrong originally and almost lost it all. Getting in touch with FB was nearly impossible but once I did it got sorted out, thank goodness. It all doesn’t seem as bad now that it’s all fixed :)

Ah, I so hear your pain. Wouldn’t it be nice if we were all Internet wizards. I no nothing about this stuff, and I am so afraid to push the wrong buttons sometimes, it’s not even funny. No wonder my website still looks so boring. As for FB, it took me ages to finally get that page going, and I’m still not sure that I have it right. Makes me wish I was 16, sometimes. Maybe I’d be a little better at all this! ;)

Glad you got everything sorted and that your site is back on the right track!

Mmm, I’ve seen people adding apple but I’ve never tried it. It sounds delicious. The potato makes it seem really creamy to me, it’s really yummy :)
