This instant hot apple cider from scratch just takes the time to warm up, and that’s it! It’s just as delicious and cozy as regular hot apple cider, but fast!
A very quick recipe for you today! As you can see I photographed this while I photographed the last recipe I posted. I wasn’t too sure I was even going to post this. Don’t get me wrong, it’s delicious and so easy, but it’s so simple I almost feel silly posting it. But I figure I can’t be the only one who wants hot apple cider now because nap time is almost over and if it’s not instant, it’s not happening. So here I am sharing this idea 🙂
So, if you haven’t tried something like this already, I hope you’ll give it a try! It’s so much better(and better for you) than those packets. I do use a microwave for mine, but you can of course do this in a pot on the stove as well. The only time needed? The time to heat it up! This is as instant as real food gets 🙂
Another little note, this wont be as good with regular apple juice from the store. Of course you can use it if you want, but I highly recommend finding apple cider. I buy mine from our local Market, which we’re lucky to have run all the way until Christmas. But I have noticed that even my local grocery store sells apple cider, which has the rich dark coloring of our local Farmers Market cider. So if you can find it, please do use it 🙂 And just an idea, if you have a local market that sells amazing apple cider, buy some and freeze smaller portions of it for later when your market isn’t running, that’s what I do!

Oh my. These pictures are GORGEOUS! Awesome job, Heidi! 🙂 I’m so happy you decided to post it!
And this looks SO good! I wish we had apple cider here. It’s super lame that it doesn’t exist. It gets in the way of my donut making.

The trickiest thing is finding good cider. Once the commerical brands add benzoate preservative, the flavour is ruined! Freezing farm fresh apple cider in the fall is a fantastic idea!
