Chocolate Cheesecake Mousse

This rich and creamy Chocolate Cheese Mousse is a decadent dessert made with melted chocolate, cream cheese, and whipped cream. It’s easy to make, requires no baking, and is perfect for dinner parties, romantic dinners, or when you’re craving a chocolatey treat.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate or dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream cold
  • 8 ounces cream cheese room temp
  • 3/4-1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat or in a microwave-safe bowl at half power in 30-second increments, stirring after every 30 seconds. Set aside.

  • Whip the cream using a hand mixer or stand mixer. Begin at low speed to avoid splattering and gradually increase the speed. You'll notice the cream thickening and increasing in volume. Be careful not to overwhip; you want stiff peaks and not butter. Set aside.
    1 cup heavy cream
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese, 3/4 cup (90 grams) powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth. If it’s not pleasantly sweet, add the remaining 1/4 cup (30 grams) of powdered sugar.

  • Mix in the melted chocolate and beat until fully combined.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate cheesecake mixture until smooth and fluffy.
  • Spoon into serving dishes and serve right away for a softer texture or chill for 2 hours for a mousse texture.
  • Cover and refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days.

Notes

  • This recipe yields about 2 2/3 cups of mousse.
